ONE of the world’s most well known LGBTI stars will be appearing at Sydney’s biggest party of 2016.

Eurovision 2014 winner Conchita Wurst will make her debut at the Mardi Gras Party on Saturday, March 5, as revealed today by the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras team.

Wurst announced in November she will perform at the Sydney Opera House during Mardi Gras, but her appearance at the Mardi Gras Party is an added bonus.

The “Queen of Austria” will hit the party stage with Australia’s own drag superstar and Mardi Gras Global Ambassador, Courtney Act, for a performance that will pay homage to the art of drag.

“We’ve revamped the party experience this year, and we’re bringing the stage into the centre of the room,” Mardi Gras Party Creative Director George Savoulis said.

“Epic and high energy shows will radiate the experience outwards into every corner. Now everyone has an incredible view for the party of the year.”

Wurst and Act join a line-up that includes the top DJs from Australia and overseas including Tracy Young, Mark Picchiotti, Buck Naked, Mark Alsop, Victoria Anthony, Kitty Glitter, Maze and Masters, Colin Gaff, Seismic and Tanner Derrby.

More acts will be announced in the coming weeks.

The Mardi Gras Party is the place to be after the world-famous Mardi Gras Parade, with DJs spinning across a several large dance halls filled with more than 12,000 party-goers.
