I WAS BORN THIS WAY (Gomi’s Tribute Mix)
The ultimate gay disco anthem from the late 70s has been updated by great Japanese producer Gomi, who did a fantastic job maintaining the original disco roots. We don’t hear songs like this very much these days but the message in this song is still relevant and should be heard by a new generation.
LOVE GENERATION (Club Mix)
Bob Sinclar feat. Gary Pine
This track is destined to be a big summer anthem. It’s got very infectious acoustic guitars, bouncy beats and the vocals of Gary Pine from the Wailers who used to perform with Bob Marley. It makes me happy every time I hear it. I see a big blue sky and feel the warm summer breeze coming through the track.
MESMERIZED (Freemasons Mix)
This talented singer has come a long way since I first saw her in Whitney Houston’s Heartbreak Hotel video back in 1998. This track is already getting lots of exposure in clubs and in the media but it’s going to be even bigger with the local CD single release next week. Freemasons did an amazing production on this track, complementing Faith’s feel-good vocals. I hope there is more of happy disco house coming out.
SPANISH GUITAR (Original Version)
As the title suggests this track takes you on an emotional journey with Spanish guitars. There are a few great instrumental tracks out recently and I like throwing them in my sets as refreshment. The production of the track is minimal and it has lower beats per minutes than other big room tracks, but it has got driving beats and good energy to it.
RELEASE (Raul Rincon Remix)
Gabi Newman feat. Nikol
I love the way this track builds up. It starts with very simple beats and piano, keeps adding energy with great percussion and uplifting female vocals of Nikol, then lifts another level towards the end with playful sax. It makes me happy every time I play it.
