DJ Bear 1 give us his top five favourite tracks at the moment. He’s been DJing for just over a year but has already found a loyal following after gigs including Fair Day, Harbour City Bears party DecaDance, Bears Boot Camp and Collide-A-Scope.

EASTERN DRUMS (Intro Mix)

Offer Nissim feat. Fairuz

Some friends from Amsterdam recommended this track during Mardi Gras this year. I’ve opened with this little gem a couple of times and the floor just goes nuts. The tune has an amazing Middle Eastern rhythm and rolling bass line. The Fairuz chant-like vocals are just the icing on the cake.

YOUR LOVING ARMS (Club Mix)

Karen Overton

The first time I heard this bomb I had no idea it was a remake of the old Billie Ray Martin track everyone would remember. This version doesn’t have that remake feel at all. The vocals are incredibly fresh and haunting. The podgy bass line and the slightly twisted breakdown will leave you begging for more.

CAN’T SLEEP (ATB Remix)

Above & Beyond

Above & Beyond productions are amazing and their new Tri-State CD is a huge listen. This track was an instant favourite the very first time I heard it. The vocals will keep you awake daydreaming and the beautiful melody is always a hit with punters. Listen to the lyrics -“ we’ve all been there.

BY YOUR SIDE (Original Mix)

The Thrillseekers feat. Gina Dootson

This one has been around for a couple of months now but still gets me and the dancefloor going. The construction and feel to this tune are so different from anything around at the moment. The depth of the bass line throughout the track is incredible. It’s guaranteed to make the hairs on the back of your neck stand straight up.

THE FUTURE (Original Mix)

Lee Haslam

Lee Haslam is more noted for his harder trance tunes, but with this he has hit the main dancefloor with an absolute stomper. The build-up and crescendo will almost certainly get everyone’s hands in the air and no doubt begging for more. I can’t get enough of this one.
