(FAR FROM) HOME

Tiga

I love Tiga’s new album and this cute little number is one of my faves. Electro synth-pop that’s catchy but cool -“ Tiga’s just my kind of guy. FYI I nearly owned an original photographic print of Bryan Ferry that Tiga has completely ripped off for his album cover. It was the coolest thing ever but the guy changed his mind and wouldn’t sell it.

RIDE A WHITE HORSE (FK Disco Whores Dub)

Goldfrapp

So who doesn’t like Goldfrapp? Fools! This unrecognisable mix is super sleaze with a squelching, twisting, up your arse bass line that everyone can learn to enjoy -“ you just have to try and relax.

THE ART OF PARTIES

Japan

I’ve had the good fortune of rifling through a few people’s amazing but neglected record collections in my time and this was one of my great finds. I think Japan was once a hair metal band but by this stage they were 80s synth-poppers par excellence. This song is Spandau/ Duran/ Thompson Twins but you’ve never heard it. Great!

ON PARADE

Electrelane

Guitars? And real drums? Oh my god! Now, everybody just stay cool, we can work through this. But seriously, if you can’t dance to this I don’t want you in my disco anyway.

PASS THIS ON (M.A.N.D.Y. Knifer Mix)

The Knife

I’m in love with your brother. Actually, I’m still in love with The Knife and this remix is something else, ain’t it? A deep pulsating bass and beat to bring home the bacon combined with strange lyrics and a great vocal. This always works.
