Election 2013: Leaders’ Debate – Same-sex Marriage

Same-sex marriage was briefly touched on in the leaders’ debate – what do you think of the responses from the leaders?

Opposition Leader Tony Abbott says it is “an important issue, but not the most important issue”. He has declined an invitation to say he would allow a conscience vote on the issue within his party, saying it would be an issue for a future party room.

Mr Rudd spoke of his support for same sex marriage, saying he would legislate for marriage equality “within 100 days of a re-elected Labor government”.
