ELECTION RESULT HALTS GAY RIGHTS
The Coalition victory will halt the progression of gay and lesbian rights according to gay Democrats Senator Brian Greig, although the worst won’t be known until the Senate vote is completed.
“Howard was never going to progress gay and lesbian issues,” Greig told Sydney Star Observer. “The question is, if he has increased power, is he prepared to use that power to go backwards, to regress legislation? Is he prepared to unravel and unwind things? That’s the question for our community.”
