Final curtain call Adelaide director

Much loved South Australian writer and director, Geoff Crowhurst has died peacefully at home after a year-long battle with cancer. He was 58.

Crowhurst has been described as a visionary, kind, supportive, generous and brave.

A longtime contributor to queer arts, Crowhurst was greatly involved with Adelaide’s Feast Festival, and known as a skilled director, community cultural development worker, finance manager, and Feast board member.

Crowhurst will be remembered for his work with Junction Theatre, Mainstreet Theatre Company, Not So Straight Theatre Company, The Lampshade Shop, Feast and many other community theatre companies and arts organisations.

Crowhurst was said to be a champion of Australian writers, commissioning and directing many new works.

He is survived by his partner Rob and family.
