Gay Orange

Gay Orange

This weekend it’s all happening in Orange. After a very successful Big G’Day Out in Bathurst in May, Orange will go all of the colours of the rainbow this weekend. The gay, lesbian and bisexual community of Orange and its surrounds are invited to a number of activities aimed at building friendships and making people aware of Orange’s diverse population. The first event on Saturday 9 August will be a picnic from noon until 3:30pm. Organisers say this will be a chance for everyone to get to know each other in the beautiful surroundings of the Orange Botanical Gardens. BYO food, whether it’s a full spread or a sandwich. From 3:30pm to 5:30pm the group will have casual coffee at the Orange Botanical Gardens Coffee Shop. From 6pm everyone will meet at the Park View Hotel, Summer St, Orange, for casual dinner at the pub or somewhere else. After dinner, meet at the pub for a few beers. A relaxed Sunday brunch will be held for those nursing their heads from 11:30am on 10 August. Everyone is invited to all events, and organisers will make sure all attendees are introduced and looked after. There are no bookings required, everyone can just turn up on the day. Hosts will wear red name badges at the events. Call Jon on 0429 450 326, Cath on 0403 417 978 or Ian on 0439 984 586 for more information.
