The Bobby Goldsmith Foundation is looking for mad keen runners to help raise much needed funds in this year’s City to Surf.

Last year a team of BGF runners raised $3,000 for people in poverty living with HIV/AIDS. This year the BGF wants the biggest team and biggest fundraising effort ever.

This year’s City to Surf will happen on Sunday 10 August, and as usual it will feature serious and not-so-serious runners. Also as usual, the course runs from the CBD to Bondi.

Among the BGF participants will be Steve Oatley, a 26-year-old from Newcastle.

As a younger person I think it is vital I give my support to BGF’s fight against HIV, Oatley said.

Young people need to wake up to the fact HIV hasn’t gone away and it is affecting more people than ever. It’ll be a great day, all for a fantastic cause -“ I can’t think of a better way to spend an afternoon.

Would-be BGF runners should contact the Foundation on 1800 651 011. The BGF will send out a full infor- mation pack including registration and sponsorship forms. Sponsorship can be for each kilometre covered or just for runners to get over the finish line.
