Amidst making plans to get your Christmas shopping done early, why not also reserve some time to help sell ribbons for World AIDS Day on December 1.

ACON is calling on all community-minded folk to register their interest in helping out as early as possible.

We’ve already had some interest, but it is early days and we don’t really expect to get real interest until closer to the day, ACON spokesman Michael Badorrek said.

But the more people who register their interest early the less stress we have.

Ideally, ACON is looking for between 250 and 300 volunteers to help sell ribbons and collect donations.
Donate an hour of your time or ten. We’ve set up a website, so people can say they want to work at particular times, or they can choose where they want to sell ribbons. Badorrek said.

For those too busy to hit the streets, there are still numerous ways to help out throughout the drive. Head online to order a supporter pack of ribbons to sell from your desk or around the neighbourhood. Or simply make a donation to the AIDS Trust.

Info: To register as a volunteer head to www.redribbon.org.au. To donate money to the AIDS Trust go to www.aidstrust.com.au.
