iOTA to get sleazy

Sleaze Ball 2009 is set to be a parade of champions as the hugely talented singer and actor iOTA joins the line-up for this year’s sports-themed party.

iOTA is one of Australia’s most enigmatic, talented and original performers and will bring not only musical but dramatic talent to the party in one of the spectacular high production shows for which Sleaze Ball is famous.

He received six ARIA award nominations for his early musical releases (Hip Bone Connection, Big Grand Father and La Caravana). His extraordinary theatrical debut as Hedwig in the cult production of Hedwig and the Angry Inch saw him winning a Green Room Award, a Sydney Theatre Critics Award, and a Helpmann Award for best male actor.

He went on to work with Sydney Dance Company on Berlin followed seamlessly by immersion into the character of Frank N Furter in Richard O’Brien’s Rocky Horror Show for which he again received a Helpmann nomination for best male actor.

iOTA adds even more sparkle to a party that promises to be one of the biggest in years. Sammy Jo, the Scissor Sisters Tour DJ, will be our special guest in the Hordern along with local favorites Alex Taylor, Greg Boladian and Paul Goodyear. Three major shows will punctuate the night bringing the sporty GAME ON theme to life. Meanwhile a darker and very sexy sound will rein in the Dome with Feisty, Mandy Rollins, Scott Pullen and Sveta.
