Jerusalem’s annual gay pride parade may not go ahead after the city’s Mayor Uri Lupolianski called for a last minute ban.
The parade is due to run on Thursday. Lupolianski said the parade raised concerns about “public disorder,” and was supported by Jewish, Christian and Muslim religious leaders, The Independent reported.
Gay and lesbian organisation The Open House has lodged a petition with the district court. A hearing on Sunday will determine whether the parade goes ahead.
