It had always been a curiosity of mine to go undercover as a female escort. It was in the interest of research, therefore, that I signed up with Australia’s only lesbian escort agency. After a couple of weeks, I got a call for a three-hour booking.

I’d had plenty of time to prepare myself (and my partner) for this moment, yet I was still nervous. I had no instruction other than to be prepared for anything. Nathan says he’s confident there’s a market for lesbian escorts. Initially it was the gay, transsexual and straight escorts who were booked out, but we’re now starting to see much more interest from the girls. We know there’s a demand out there -“ it may just take a bit longer to establish.

This job gives you an incredible amount of confidence and self esteem, he says.

When you get regular clients, it’s a tremendous ego boost. One guy booked me for 11 overnight stays, over seven weeks, and bought me roses and a diamond ring.

Nathan says some clients are busy international businessmen who just don’t have time for a partner. While we have lunch, Nathan’s phone rings and he immediately switches into professional mode.

We have a beautiful transsexual named -˜Y’, she’s brunette, blue eyes -¦ we can have her there in half an hour, he says. It’s clear he knows the rules of engagement. He also knows his 40 escorts’ profiles by heart.

My staff are like my family, I feel completely honoured to be working with such an amazing team of beautiful, talented and motivated individuals, he says.

In this little community everyone looks out for each other, and there is a huge amount of respect among the staff. That bond allows them to deal with any negative connotations their job might have in the outside world.

The only negative or downside to this job is society’s stigma, other people casting judgment on what we do, Nathan says. It can be a head fuck if you don’t know how to handle it.

The service we offer plays such an important role in society, allowing people to fulfil their fantasies and needs in a safe and controlled environment. If this outlet wasn’t available, then I’m sure we’d see an increase of problems in our community.

Nathan says his escorts are treated with respect, especially in the finance department. The hourly rate begins at $250. And, while all the escorts are prepared to offer sex, it’s not always required.

Some clients just want a dinner companion, to be held through the night or just a friendly face to talk to, he says.
