Laws and Newman face fresh complaints

A Tasmanian gay man has lodged complaints with the state’s Anti-Discrimination Commission against media personalities John Laws and Sam Newman.

Michael Dempsey claimed both Laws and Newman incited hatred against gay people with comments they made in November last year.

He referred to comments Laws made on his national live radio show about TV star Carson Kressley, which included calling him a “poof”, “pansy” and “pillow biter”. Laws later apologised to the gay community for his behaviour.
