Learning to be funny

American comedy writing and performance expert Steve Kaplan is coming to Australia this month to help teach and foster our country’s comedic talent.

Kaplan, who has helped develop some of the gay community’s most loved programs, will host a two-day workshop at the Sydney Comedy Intensive, Entertainment Quarter, on 25 and 26 August.

It will be the first time the acclaimed comedy expert has visited Australia to share his skills.

Kaplan has coached and developed the writing teams on programs like Sex and the City, Friends, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Ugly Betty. He has also worked with stars like the openly gay actor Nathan Lane and My Big Fat Greek Wedding‘s Nia Vardalos.

His famed Comedy Intensive is a two-day weekend course which offers proven, practical methods to help you reveal and understand comedy structure, character and story from the inside out.
