Let’s talk about sex

Sex is like driving a car -” technically anyone can jump behind the wheel and get the thing to move, but a couple of tips and lessons never go astray, particularly if you want to keep your passengers happy.

So for all of those interested in taking a refresher course or picking up some new tricks, head along to ACON’s Better Sex workshops.

The workshop for 18-29 year olds, entitled Adult Themes, begins on October 27 and will run for eight weeks, giving participants a space to talk and learn about everything from head job techniques to intimacy, with some safe-sex messages thrown in. A similar workshop for older men will begin on Tuesday October 28.

ACON youth peer education officer and event organiser Peter Gray assures the event will provide a total overview on the A to Z of sexual technique in a completely friendly environment.

The workshop is structured, but we also want people to feel free to ask any questions as well. We’ll start by looking at some general values around sex and sexual health information but after that we will focus in on individual body parts and areas, from the mouth to the cock and arse, Gray said.

info: Places for the workshop are strictly limited, to enrol or enquire head to

  1. Hey guys, completely agree.. but MLJ, just think – this guy that ditched you would not have been worth it, simply because if he’s done it to you… he’ll have done it to others, and dont even think of counting because you just wont know. The flipside to that though is, how many has he actually suceeded in having BB with? more than likely (and unfortunatly) at least once. But like we all know with unprotected sex, once is too much. I am happy to see guys out there like you who stand by there guns (so to speak – no pun really intended hehe), but knowing that what truly matters is keeping themselves safe.

    Good on you.

  2. I also agree with Elliot. Additionally, if any aspect of sex does need teaching, it’s how to stand up for your rights where condom use is concerned. I’ve had to give men ‘the SS talk’ many times and that doesn’t make for good sex. Some guys told me to shove it and left all bcause I was insistent on SS! WTF?

  3. Im so tired of the community CONSTENTLY promoting sex, dont you understand we have a STI and STD epidemic here?? You should be having a workshop on the dangers of STI infections or the like (ACON hmm??).

I love sex just like everyone else but why we do always have to promote sex all the time, there is more to the community then sex.
