Liza heads to the Ent Cent

Liza Minnelli has added an extra Sydney date to her Australian concert tour, but this time at the Sydney Entertainment Centre.

The extra date, on Monday November 2, follows two sell-out shows at the Sydney Opera House on October 16 and 17.

Tickets go on sale at 9am on Thursday 14 May.

It is great to see that Liza is a popular as ever and that Australian’s can’t wait to see her on stage.  The surge for tickets through the Sydney Opera House pre sale was so great that their computers crashed, tour promoter Michael Chugg said.

Bringing her unstoppable Minnelli magic to Australia, Liza will tour nationally during October in an unmatchable concert performance.  Based on her current hit Broadway show Liza’s At The Palace, the evening will feature an incomparable Minnelli songfest including many of her personal favourites and signature hits.

Along with a 12-piece orchestra the performance will feature Liza’s showstoppers such as Cabaret, Maybe This Time and Theme From New York, New York.

One of the world’s best-loved entertainers, Minnelli just received a nomination for the 2009 Tony Awards in the category Best Special Theatrical Event, for the New York concerts that she has just performed -“ Liza’s at the Palace.

It is just another accolade in a career that includes multiple Tony awards, Academy Awards, a Golden Globe Award and BAFTA Award, an Emmy Award, and she was the recipient of a Grammy Legend Award in 1989, making her one of the few artists who have won entertainment’s top six awards.
