Lord Mayor Clover Moore has presented three new grants to environmental and social support programs in the City of Sydney as part of the Lord Mayoral Salary Trust.
The Wayside program, which provides nutritional breakfasts to young people living on or around the streets of Kings Cross, was among those given financial assistance, as was the Gamarada Aboriginal Men’s Sel- Healing and Life Skills Development Program.
The National Parks Association also received a grant for the Sydney Harbour Community Marine Education Program, which helps university students and recreational scuba divers to educate the wider community about marine diversity in Sydney Harbour.
The Lord Mayoral Salary Trust has delivered almost $830,000 in support across 35 charitable projects, including animal welfare, homelessness charities and mental health initiatives, over the past five years. “I encourage more people in the community to get involved and assist those who need a helping hand,” Moore said.
