DANCE OFF

DUKE magazine is hosting its annual Dance-Off Party tonight, Thursday 12 June, at Oxford Art Factory. The event -” in its third year -” has grown a reputation as being the party of the year and, with the current dance craze hitting a crescendo, this year’s event promises to be huge. The Dance-Off is a fantastically fun and hilarious dance competition in which solos and partners compete for the crown of King and Queen of the dancefloor.

ENTWINED

The International School of Colour and Design (ISCD ) introduces two talented artists, Alison Knight and Jenny Pridham, at Entwined, an annual exhibition that strives to showcase the artistic passion of ISCD artists in an open forum. The exhibition is open Monday-Friday 10am-6pm, Saturdays 10am-4pm, until 30 June at Level 5/99 Mount St, North Sydney.

FAMOUS

Famous has revolutionised Saturday nights since opening its doors in March 2007. However, the time has come for Famous to fly the nest, leaving Home nightclub on Saturday 14 June and taking a well-earned vacation. Make sure you don’t miss the next few weeks of Famous as they say farewell in style. Admission for the Leaving Home Party is $25. Doors open 10pm.

BINGAY

Mitzi Macintosh’s Big Bingay Balls are dropping at Sly Fox while the Imperial is being renovated. Bingay is award-winning drag queen Mitzi’s take on bingo, but it has a very big twist. Expect weird rules, singalongs, penalties and hilarious stories with prizes that range from the silly and camp to great theatre tickets or restaurant vouchers. Free snacks are served each week. Bingay had been running every Tuesday night at the Imperial since 1999 as a fundraising night for ACON, raising more than $400,000. For bookings call 9206 2110 or 0413 510 172.
