Nil by dancefloor

Nil by dancefloor

It is the same after every big dance party. I make a solemn oath that I will never ever go out and party again. However you say it, Stella’s lost her groove, monkey’s dead, show’s over, or I’m just plain rooted. I had made a promise that it would be nil by dancefloor until at least Mardi Gras.

So last Sunday I went out. You know me -“ when it comes to willpower, I am shithouse.

As you all know, I like to try something new and go on little adventures. So I decided to take a trot down to the new night at Hugo’s Pizza Bar called Camp Sundays. Okay, I had no money and it was just around the corner from where I live. I had two very seasoned partygoers in tow, Fuchsia and Sheila (when I say seasoned, I do mean seasoned chooks).

The shindig could be described as a classy afternoon/early evening with some of Sydney’s sexiest boys. Just think one notch up from the Tilbury. Last Sunday I had the pleasure of rubbing shoulders with 100 Chadwicks models (okay, I did try to rub more than shoulders), not to mention numerous others who should have been models. Didn’t we stick out like dogs balls -“ but in a good way!

I’ve been led to believe that there’s a door list, and if you are on it you won’t get in. It is supposed to keep the riffraff out and let the beautiful people swish around by themselves. Well, it is quite apparent that the riffraff can sneak in -“ if not, how the hell did I get in? The music kicks off at 3pm till 7pm with the fabulous Gary T on the camp decks. After that, the dinner crowd comes in and if you are lucky you may even see a celebrity (okay, it was just Courtney but she counts).

I am a little excited. I am sure everyone is aware of the day party craze. Day parties like Toybox have quickly become some of the community’s favourites. At the next Toybox scheduled for 24 October, the fabulous Penny Tration and I have been asked to do the show in the toilet. That’s right, in the female toilets. And wait till you see what we have come up with. You are able to get tickets from www.toyboxparty.com.au.

Beat FM 87.6 have a new and improved show, Queer Entertainment, starring Daisy Fantayzee and Candy Box with roving reporter Mamma Shirl. You can hear the girls every Saturday from 2pm to 4pm. If you have heard these girls together before, you know it is going to be a hoot.

I must mention that last Sunday was a celebration for a very special person. Carmen was celebrating her 68th birthday. I am sure everyone knows how much of a legend Carmen is. I hope she had a fabulous day and that she’ll have many more birthdays like the one on Sunday.
