NMG and SSO Media sign two-year partnership

SSO Media, publisher of Sydney Star Observer, will continue its role as official New Mardi Gras media partner in 2006 and 2007, and will produce the official Mardi Gras season guides for both years.

At a contract signing in SSO Media’s Darlinghurst offices, NMG announced the two-year partnership. SSO Media has produced the past three festival season guides and acted as official media partner since 2002.

SSO Media editor-in-chief Marcus O’Donnell said the two companies were a perfect fit for the coming years.

Both companies have been key players in the development of gay and lesbian Sydney for more than 25 years, O’Donnell said.

And we’re both always asking ourselves how we can do more, and how we can do better.

SSO Media business development manager Lynne O’Brien said the partnership provided benefits for both organisations.

This is an opportunity for both companies to support each other, and to produce some innovative ideas and events for the approaching Mardi Gras seasons, O’Brien said.

New Mardi Gras chair Marcus Bourget said NMG was delighted to re-sign the official media partnership with SSO Media.

This cements a relationship between our organisations that goes back many years, Bourget said.

Having effective and rewarding partnerships with other community groups is one of NMG’s key strategies moving forward, and we look forward to working closely with the Star over the coming months to develop and strengthen that relationship.
