Nominations close soon

Time is running out to nominate your candidate in the search for Australia’s 25 most influential gays and lesbians.
The search, being undertaken by website www.samesame.com.au in conjunction with Sydney Star Observer, seeks to find and showcase those in our community who have the greatest impact.
Sydney Star Observer Publishing Editor Scott Abrahams said nominations so far had been strong and across a diverse range of fields.
“What has been really interesting about this process is seeing who is held in esteem in the community and why,” he said.
“There are nominations for people from the corporate world, gay community groups, the arts and a string of other professions.
“It really is turning into a celebration of people who are proud of their sexuality and who are not afraid to stand up and be counted in their chosen field.”
Nominees must be Australian citizens who have publicly acknowledged being gay or lesbian. Nominations close 12 September and the final list will be decided by a panel of community judges.
The final 25 will be announced at a cocktail party in October.
