Police plea for help

Police Minister Tony Kelly has issued a reward of $100,000 for information that can help in the investigation into the murder of a gay man in Ashfield.

Bernd Lehmann was found dead at his home on February 14 this year, but no real leads have been found.

The police have made an appeal to the Oxford St community to contact them if they have any knowledge about Lehmann’s actions around the time of his death.

As part of the investigation and to establish the circumstances around his death, it is important we hear from any members of the community who knew Mr Lehmann, a police spokesperson said.

We have already spoken with many of Mr Lehmann’s friends, most of whom were members of the gay community, but we believe there may be others who have not come forward to police.

info: If you have any information contact Ashfield Police on 9797 4099 or Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000
