Positive Life marks 20 years at AGM

A new board was elected to preside over Positive Life at its Annual General Meeting last week, which also marked the organisation’s 20th year.

Jason Appleby was elected president along with a new board which includes Richard Kennedy as vice president, Malcolm Leech as secretary and Bernard Kealy as treasurer. David Riddell, Craig Cooper, James Wilson and ACON’s Russell Westacott have also been appointed to the board.

Jason Appleby recognised the work of staff at Positive Life, highlighting the ongoing recognition and quality of Talkabout, peer support projects, the new website, as well as the increased focus and impact made in the area of policy and advocacy, a Positive Life a spokesman told Sydney Star Observer.

The supreme efforts of longtime members Bill Whittaker, Claude Fabian and Geoff Honnor were recognised at the AGM. They were all appointed Distinguished Members for their contributions over the years.
