Product review: Braun Series 7

Product review: Braun Series 7

Sure, nothing quite matches the close cut and longevity of a wet-razor shave, but for those looking for the next best thing – and a real time-saver – the newly-released Braun Series 7 (retailing in stores from $449) is the Rolls Royce of electric dry shavers. We’ve road-tested (or rather, face-tested) one at Sydney Star, and once you get over the initial shock of a razor that can not only clean itself but apparently stores information about your shaving habits to give a tailored clean after each shave (thoughts of a Terminator-style robot uprising flash through your head as the blades whirr close to your face), you’ll find it gives just about the closest shave possible for a dry shaver – and in a fraction of the time you’d spend faffing about with all that shaving cream and hot water. Plus, it comes with three great ‘Personalisation Modes’, meaning you can go gentle on those sensitive areas of the face and neck.
