A film star who marries a prince -“ no matter how tiny his kingdom -“ is a chocolate-box type of story ripe for ballet.

Aleksandr Glazunov’s lovely score is retained but here translated to the glamour world of 1950s Hollywood, Monaco palaces and flouncy cocktail dresses.
