Red carpet rolled out at Tropical Fruits

Budding gay and lesbian filmmakers have a chance for their work to be shown at this year’s Tropical Fruits Film Festival.
Tropical Fruits spokesman Duncan Maurice said the festival would be part of the group’s annual new year’s celebration, which will be a tribute to old school glamour and pizzazz.
“The films and multi-media productions we are seeking will be primarily independent and not restricted to a specific theme,” he said.
“The content selected will be original, light-hearted, positive and quirky.
“Tropical Fruits wants work that will celebrate the community’s cultural and creative brilliance and, most importantly, diversity.”
Entries will be judged by a selection panel who will assess the entry’s relevance and suitability to the party atmosphere.
“All works chosen for screening will be credited at the event,” Maurice said.
“And the filmmakers will be profiled on the Tropical Fruits website, as well as promoted in the newsletter.”
The film festival will take place on 31 December and 1 January at the Lismore Showgrounds.
To enter, contact Duncan Maurice at the Tropical Fruits office on 6622 6440 or email [email protected].
