SGLBA scholarships awarded

The SGLBA is pleased to announce the awarding of two scholarships for the 2008 academic year.

The scholarships are awarded to students studying in business or commerce and they must have completed a minimum of one year’s full-time study.

The Association promoted the scholarships widely with several universities, scholarships director Greg Reynolds said.

It was pleasing to see applications also being generated through promotion in Sydney Star Observer, he said.

The two recipients are Matthew McQueen, who is studying for Bachelor of Business (Property) at UWS, and Philip Partalis, who is studying for a Bachelor of Business (Service Marketing) at UNSW.

Both students have been active in the GLBT community and as part of the condition of their scholarship will also look at how they can encourage and support fellow students at their respective universities.

info: Applications for the 2009 academic year open in October, so prospective applicants should contact Greg Reynolds on 0420 995 962 for terms and conditions if they are interested in applying.
