Showstoppers
Alongside the big Broadway belter talents of Judi Connelli, Todd McKenney and Chloe Dallimore (pictured), Michael Falzon -“ former star of the Queen rock musical We Will Rock You -“ is bringing his own style of rock-and-pop-meets-musical-theatre to Showstoppers, which plays at the Concert Hall from 2 to 4 November.
There will be some Queen in there as I will be doing We Will Rock You, but some people might be in for a surprise as I am also doing contemporary musical songs from the likes of Evita and Jesus Christ Superstar, as well as All I Ask Of You from Phantom.
Other songs performed in Showstoppers include classics from Sweet Charity, The Producers, Gypsy and Crazy For You. The star singers will be backed by Guy Noble as he conducts the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.
I’ve never sung with a band as big as the SSO, but I think my coming on board has probably brought some diversity to it as well. And when I am not on stage, everyone will know where to find me -“ I will be sitting in the wings, just listening to Judi and Todd doing their thing, Fazon said.
