Not one but two venues will host official Sleaze Ball recovery parties this year: the Midnight Shift and the Exchange Hotel. New Mardi Gras announced the venues yesterday and tickets are now on sale for both events. The Midnight Shift will present Classic Anthems from 8am on Sunday 5 October, featuring DJs Ric Dreske, Ruby and Ryan Murphy. Tickets will be sold on the door for $20 with Sleaze Ball ticket holders able to purchase tickets in advance for $15. The Exchange Hotel will hold the official recovery party for women entitled Pleasures Of The Flesh, with the Phoenix opening at 8am and the Lizard Lounge open from noon Sunday. Mitzi Macintosh and Sexy Galexy will stage a celebrity kissing auction, with proceeds going to ACON’s Lesbian Health Project. New Mardi Gras’ Mark Orr also announced this week that a small and intimate space was being planned for the Stage 11 venue (formerly known as City Live), to create a Dome-like feel with toned-down lighting for a dark, dirty and tribal space.
