Ever wanted to learn how to play hockey? Bentstix, Sydney’s champion gay and lesbian hockey club, is inviting everyone to their special social hockey day on the long weekend.
Club secretary Paul Grimmond said hockey was an ideal summer sport, particularly for people who have never played the game or haven’t picked up a hockey stick since school.
“The day will be a casual and friendly get-together with some basic training, a chat about the club and a sausage sizzle,” Grimmond said.
“This will be followed by an interstate hockey match against Melbourne so you can see the team in action.”
Bentstix is one of the favourite teams for next year’s Outgames. The games will be held at various locations around Melbourne from 30 January to 3 February.
The Bentstix social hockey day will be held on 29 September at the University of NSW sports fields, 1,408 Anzac Parade, Little Bay, from 10.30am.
For more details phone Paul Grimmond on 0416 145 463, email [email protected] or visit www.bentstix.com.au.
