Events NSW is yet to confirm if it will financially support the 31st Mardi Gras next year, however an announcement is expected in the coming weeks.

Though a dead-line for the announcement is yet to be set, Events NSW has confirmed discussions with the New Mardi Gras board are still underway.

We envisage that discussions will be finalised in the very near future, an Events NSW spokesperson said.

Events NSW considers the Mardi Gras event to be an iconic feature of both the Sydney and the Australian events calendars.

New Mardi Gras chair David Imrie says there had been positive movement in recent days.

Events NSW have been quite pro-active in their communications over this last week. I think that an announcement is imminent, he said.
