The scheduled completion date for the Taylor Square upgrade has been pushed back to 1 September, angering local business owners and community members.

Work on the $6m project commenced last December and has since turned gay Sydney’s unofficial heart into a construction site.

The Mayor of South Sydney, Councillor Tony Pooley, told Sydney Star Observer that he genuinely apologised” for the inconvenience caused by the upgrade but said the construction work would enormously improve the domain.
