Twenty10 farewells “inspirational” leader

Twenty10 and the Gay and Lesbian Counselling Service bid farewell to leader Rebecca Reynolds, who has lead the community-based organisation for the past five years. Rebecca, who has served as Managing Director since 2008, doesn’t have any immediate plans for her future, saying: “I am absolutely confident that this organisation will continue to go from strength to strength with such a committed and skilled team”.

Co-Chair of Twenty10 Brendan Doggett said: “The Board was devastated when Rebecca told us that it was time to hand over the reins. Rebecca has been an amazing force within the organisation and has seen us grow beyond what we all thought was possible. So it is with a heavy heart that we now look to replace one amazing leader with another. Twenty10 and GLCS are in such a great place thanks to the staff and Rebecca, that we know that special person to lead the organisation is out there, and the organisation can offer them a great place to work, where what they do really matters, and has a positive impact in our communities”.

Twenty10 has served the Darlinghurst LGBTQI community since 1982 in response to a growing gay and lesbian homeless population and over the past thirty years has grown to include statewide support for people of diverse gender identities, sexualities and sexes, their families and communities. In 2011, Twenty10 joined forces with the Gay and Lesbian Counselling Service of NSW to provide free, anonymous and confidential telephone counselling, information and referral services and support groups for gay men, lesbians, bisexuals and transgender people in NSW.
