Undies for HIV

aussieBum has donated 700 pairs of limited edition Red Ribbon underwear to the Sydney South West Area Health Service Heterosexual HIV/AIDS Service (HHAS) and the Bobby Goldsmith Foundation (BGF).
The Red Ribbon underwear will be available for $15 at the BGF and HHAS joint stall during Mardi Gras Fair Day at Victoria Park in Camperdown this Sunday.
Proceeds from the sale of the underwear will be shared between the HHAS and BGF to provide support to heterosexual people living with HIV.
While the spread of the disease has been limited to some degree in NSW, HIV/AIDS continues to present challenges, with more people than ever before living with HIV.
The Bobby Goldsmith Foundation reports that nearly a third of people with HIV in NSW are living below the poverty line. Living with HIV/AIDS is associated with significant changes in employment and accommodation circumstances.
aussieBum founder Sean Ashby said the company was proud of its relationship with the gay and lesbian community.
We hope that this gesture goes some way towards making a positive impact within the heterosexual HIV community. We applaud the work of both SSWAHS and BGF and wish them continued future success, Ashby said.
The Red Ribbon undies are also available on the BGF website www.bgf.org.au.
