Do you have a fetish for uniforms? Well, the Darlinghurst Theatre Company is addressing your desires this August. Pugilist Specialist is a sexy new play by Adriano Shaplin which highlights the war on terrorism.
Set around a briefing room on a marine base in the US, four stunning marines plan and take on their target – a moustachioed Middle Eastern leather-clad enemy code-named The Bearded Lady.
The Riot Group, an ensemble theatre company, first performed the play in Edinburgh. The production then travelled to London and New York before heading to Sydney.
Directed by Michael Pigott, the show also explores the comical side of military life with hotdog eating contests.
Pugilist Specialist opens at the Darlinghurst Theatre on Wednesday 22 August, with performances until Saturday 15 September. Tickets start at $20.
