Welcome to the Terra dome

Welcome to the Terra dome

Former Mickey Mouse Club performer, and current dance music sensation Terra Deva will perform live and in the flesh at an Arq Easter party to remember this Sunday night.

Terra Deva, whose voice features in Sting Me Red, the second single from Who Da Funk (the outfit responsible for the club classic Shiny Disco Balls) is flying in for an exclusive spot at Arq’s Temptation party.

Terra says she got into dance music from hanging around friends she made in the early 90s North American rave scene: I fell in love with the people I met at raves and clubs around 1993. Eventually I figured out there was music playing and I enjoyed dancing to it. A DJ producer in the scene asked me if I could sing, so I did, she says.

After releasing a solo album in 1998, Terra Deva continued to work with some of dance music’s most credible figures -“ including Shakedown, Junior Jack and Erick Morillo and, of course, Who Da Funk. Her list of current inspirations covers everyone from Kylie to Coldplay and her voice is appearing on a stack of upcoming singles on dance music labels including Cream, Defected, Subliminal/Subusa, 352, and Definity.

I want to hear and make lots of great music and dance with good people for many years to come, she says.

Terra Deva will perform an exclusive set with a dance performance choreographed by Michael Boyd in the 2am slot of Desire, part I of Arq’s Sunday night Temptation party. Also on the line-up are Arena DJs Greg Boladian, Luke Leal and Adelaide’s Josh, with Baby Bear and Anthony Whitlock who will be playing sets in the Arq Vortex.

After a special 7am surprise show Desire will turn into Lust, the Temptation party part II. For Lust, Baby Bear will join Arq regulars Neal Crawford and Paul Goodyear from 8am until close. Organisers promise both parties will come with the usual no-expenses-spared lighting and lasers to make the Temptation party a classic and complete going-off Arq night.

Temptation part I: Desire will be held at Arq Sydney on Sunday night from 10pm to 8am. Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 on the door.
Temptation part II: Lust will start at 8am and run until close. Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 on the door.

Advance tickets are available from Arq Sydney’s Gaming Room at 16 Flinders Lane, Taylor Square, or from Fantasy Lane, 256 Crown St, Darlinghurst.
