This painting by Melbourne artist Ross Watson is from his latest collection Manner/Europa, which has been selected to open in London at the EuroPride Festival this June.

Watson’s new collection once again features images of modern, handsome men juxtaposed against classical settings and figures from the master painters, including Vermeer, Titian and Rubens.

This image, Untitled #8/05 (after Caravaggio, 1603), features German model Marcel wearing headphones in front of Caravaggio’s winged youth.

Watson said around 70 percent of the collection had already been sold, so the show will be opening in London with a lot of red dots.

He was also excited actor Sir Ian McKellen was in talks to open his show.

Those who can’t get to the UK can view his collection at the Ross Watson website.
