THE HIV Foundation Queensland (HIVQ) will open the doors on their official offices next week in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley.
The premises that already house the foundation’s new five-day-a-week HIV testing clinic, Rapid, will welcome the team behind the organisation.
The opening marks an important milestone for HIVFQ and an “exciting day for everyone involved” according to its executive director Tony Majer.
“We are thrilled to have secured a site that combines convenience and easy access to allow us to deliver community-based programs around HIV education, testing and treatment,” Majer said.
The central location of the Rapid clinic and the new offices will help raise the profile of the organisation as it works to reducing rates of HIV in Queensland.
“Also a key benefit to this location is the discreet access to the Rapid testing clinic via a laneway entrance on Winn Street,” Majer said.
The HIVFQ is committed to promoting and increasing HIV testing, implementing extensive prevention programs, improving access to treatment, tackling stigma and raising awareness about HIV transmission.
The launch will be on Monday, September 8 from 5pm.
