ALSO shop arrives at new home
It was ‘champers all right with you, darling?’ all round when the ALSO Foundation’s All So Fabulous Op Shop threw open its doors on Monday, February 22.
Moving a short walk away from its old location at 259 Smith St, Collingwood, All So Fabulous now calls 328 Smith St home. The op shop, which raises money for the ALSO Foundation, will get new a lease on life with the more modern space including a catwalk for fashion shows.
ALSO Foundation interim CEO Deb Holder said it was an exciting new phase for All So Fabulous, opening up opportunities for a new GLBTI community space.
“We’re really looking forward to a fresh start,” she told Southern Star. “It’s baby steps at the moment but the grand plan is for the shop to incorporate a space the community can use for other things.”
The new digs are more efficient with portable shelving and better storage.
ALSO will invite the community to check out the new shop with an official grand opening in the coming weeks.
Holder praised the hard-working volunteers who made the move possible.
For the hard-working volunteers, on Monday it was business as usual.
