Camp Xmas

Camp Xmas

Local GLBTI seniors are set to welcome the silly season in style, with an afternoon of Christmas entertainment at the South Melbourne Community Centre on December 7.

The Camp Xmas tea party is supported by Vintage Men in conjunction with Matrix Guild, and aimed at gay and lesbian seniors, their friends and families.

Local drag performers will donate their time to frock up for some Christmas carolling and -œto bring a little Christmas cheer to the elders of our community.

Heading up entertainment on the day are Barbra Quicksand, Kaye Sera and Connie Lingus.

Also donating their talent are singer/songwriters Michelle Parsons and Brad Schmidt and Will Conyers from the Broadway at Bedtime show on JOY 94.9FM.

Organisers said the event is aimed at fun, as Christmas can be a time of isolation and loneliness for some -” especially GLBTI seniors.

Camp Xmas will be held in the grand ballroom of the South Melbourne Community Centre, corner Park and Ferrars Streets, on Sunday December 7 from 2.30pm. Entry is $5 or $2 for concession and pensioners -” everybody welcome.
