In early May, Southern Star reported on a national competition for young people to design a condom tin as part of the National Sexually Transmissible Infections Prevention Program: Sexual Health Campaign.

The response to the competition was overwhelming, with more than 500 designs submitted from around the country and 7000 votes registered.

The two winners of the competition have now been announced — Vladimir Zokic from Canberra and Alex Naghavi of Brisbane. Both designers have been awarded $1000 cash for their work.

Members of the public can register at www.australia.gov.au/STI for the chance to receive one of the limited-edition tins — Vokic’s, a mini-safe with the tagline ‘keep it safe’, and Naghavi’s, a cheeky trumpeting elephant with the slogan ‘don’t blow it’.
