Help needed for World AIDS Day

Looking to help out at this year’s World AIDS Day on December 1?

The Victorian AIDS Council/Gay Men’s Health Centre is now calling for volunteers to assist with a host of fundrasing activities leading up to mark the commemorative day.

According to the VAC/GMHC, every three days two Victorians are newly diagnosed as HIV positive, and there are now more people living with HIV in the state than ever before.

VAC/GMHC fundraising and communications coordinator Sian Syddall said help from the community is needed again this year to raise money and levels of safe sex awareness.

“We are so grateful for the fantastic support provided to the VAC/GMHC by the GLBT community,” she said.
“Their dedication makes a significant difference to our work, supporting people living with HIV and providing education to those most at risk of HIV.”
