JOY appeals
Melbourne GLBTI radio station, JOY94.9 FM is calling for donations to help reach its $30,000 fundraising target. It costs the station around $13,000 a week to provide 24-hour queer content so the Rainbow of JOY campaign has been launched to help buy new equipment and complete studio works.
JOY is creatively raising funds with a new rainbow sign to be displayed at the station’s reception. People can donate by buying a pixel of the rainbow which includes room for a message. One pixel — up to 25 characters — will cost $40 and comes in indigo. Seven pixels — up to 200 characters — can be any colour and will set you back $250.
