Salt Shakers call for retraction

Salt Shakers call for retraction

The Salt Shakers, a Christian fundamentalist group, have called on the owners of Marquette Turner Luxury Homes to retract their support for same-sex marriage on the Australian Marriage Equality (AME) website because same-sex marriage is against Australian law.

-œThe Australian government has, at present, refused to grant legal recognition of overseas same-sex -˜marriages’. As this is the current law, recognising same-sex -˜marriages’ is undermining the position of the Australian government, Salt Shakers representative Jenny Stokes wrote.

-œWe are concerned at your agreement with this stance promoted by the homosexual lobby, Australian Marriage Equality, and ask that you retract it.

Marquette Turner is one of 17 organisations, including IBM, Westpac, the Commonwealth Bank and the City of Sydney, to have registered support for same-sex marriage on AME’s website.

  1. I could wish to die or suffer which ever will ease the pain of poor Peter and his blessed Wife Jenny.

My thought is that it would be impossible for me or us to appease such pettiness as a living and happy soul, these Guys are incredible they give all their time to beat up on people because in Peter Stokes words “The fact that some have compromised those fundamental beliefs does not automatically make our position wrong or theirs right.”
Man oh Man what does that mean?

Sorry Peter and Jenny but your “fundamental beliefs” makes my heart bleed. The fact that I have honored your “fundamental beliefs” with this much energy make me feel sick in the stomach.

So I should get on with my life and really hope that Jenny and Peter and the rest of us can find more meaning in life than the “The Australian Marriage Act” It only something if you choose to believe in it, it is like Father Christmas and Fundamental Christian Views.

  2. With reference to the above article I want to make two points 1. Re Fundamentalism and
    2. Marriage

    1. Re Fundamentalism
Yes, Salt Shakers IS a Christian “fundamentalist” group. We believe in God’s Word which is meant to be the fundamental beliefs of all those who call themselves Christians.
The fact that some have compromised those fundamental beliefs does not automatically make our position wrong or theirs right. The Bible has not changed, we have not moved from it and nor has a large part of the Christian Church which remains fundamental in its beliefs.
If others want to believe different things, that is fine, just don’t call it Christian.

    2. Marriage
As for writing to the owners of Marquette Turner Luxury Homes and asking them to retract their support for same-sex marriage –
