Smile to fight homophobia

Created by renowned US photographer Adam Bouska, the NO H8 campaign is a photographic response to last year’s passing of Proposition 8 in California, and the resulting debate around gay marriage rights.

In the US, Bouska has already photographed queer celebrities including Perez Hilton and Tila Tequila with the distinctive -˜NO H8′ slogan written on their faces, and the campaign is still growing, with over 400 celebrities posing for Bouska so far.

In a show of solidarity with our American brothers and sisters, the JOY community and team from Wednesday breakfast show The Hump Day Crew are holding Melbourne’s photo shoot this weekend, with the resulting photos to be sent to Adam Bouska for inclusion in the campaign.

Anyone can get involved -” the more people who take part, the more powerfully the anti-homophobia message will come across.

Come to the JOY studios on level 9 of the City Village building, Bourke St, on Sun May 31 any time between 3-5pm. Simply come dressed in a white T-shirt and the team from JOY will do the rest -” painting the slogan on your cheek and taking your photo.
