New Year’s Gay party revealed

Every year for the past decade, Darling Harbour venue Home has played host to a big gay new year’s day event: from Hey Homo, To Queer Nation to Homesexual To Dayone, it’s become an annual tradition, with each party attracting more than 2000 people.

For New Year’s Day 2012, inthedark productions are back in the venue with a Mexico-themed event titled New Year’s Gay 2012. Line-up details are still being finalised, but the Star Observer can give you a first exclusive taste of what’s on offer: the full Home complex will be open from 11pm January 1 until sunrise the next morning, with a Mexican theme in full effect – think sombreros, hot chilli and tequila.

As well as 10 local DJs and a host of dazzling performers, inthedark have secured Trevor Ashley in what will be his first major production show since finishing Hairspray.
