An information workshop for parents with children born via assisted reproductive technology or donor sperm will be held early next month.

The Time to Tell seminar, hosted by the Victorian Assisted Reproductive Treatment Authority, aims to help parents and prospective parents who have used (or intend using) donated eggs, sperm or embryos to create a family, with the importance of talking to children about how they were created.

Speakers will include counsellors, parents from diverse family constellations, donors and donor-conceived young people to offer insights into the best way to discuss a child’s history with them.

New legal changes will also be discussed.

The seminar is on Saturday, March 3, 9.15am-3.30pm at Northcote High School, St Georges Rd. Cost is $40+bf per person (includes light lunch). Register at www.varta.org.au
