CCTV imageVictoria Police are looking for information on two men suspected of viciously assaulting another man after leaving Melbourne gay bar The Peel.

The assault occurred near the Collingwood venue early in the morning of Sunday 19 May. 29-year-old Carlton man Corey Croft met the two men earlier that night, and the three men left the venue together around 7am, walking north along Wellington Street and west along Stanley Street.

“When the group reached Cambridge Street the two men attempted to steal the victim’s bag,” said police.

“The victim was then punched and kicked by both men before they ran north along Stanley Street. The victim’s bag was located not far from the scene and the incident was captured on CCTV.”

Police have released CCTV footage of the incident, appealing to anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report confidentially online.
