A rally in support of civil unions has been organised outside Queensland Parliament next week to coincide with the beginning of debate on the civil partnerships bill.

Organisers of the event are inviting supporters to gather at 5.30pm on Wednesday, November 30 in front of Parliament House on George Street.

Deputy Premier Andrew Fraser (pictured) will speak to the rally at 5.45pm.

Debate begins in Parliament at 7.30pm with the eventual vote expected to be close. With all LNP MPs voting against the bill it will be up to the Labor majority to ensure its passage.
